Narrative
LEVI B. STURGILL and his wife, Narcissa Elizabeth Chandler, made their home in Alleghany Co. NC where all their children were born. In 1862 he enlisted in the Confederate Army. He was captured in Spottsylvania Co. VA in 1864 and released at the end of the war in 1865. After he returned home he moved his family to Kansas.
Levi and Narcissa were divorced in Kansas about 1870, she remained in Kansas and he returned to NC where he remarried to Caroline Wiles and moved to WV where their first two children were born. In 1874 he moved to Elliot Co. KY where he and Caroline lived out their lives. It is not known where they were buried. - pg 105
