Narrative
Ann was second wife of Timothy Perkins and died in childbirth. -p. 43
Census records and known birth dates of other sisters indicate that ANN STURGILL was born about 1794. Ann married Timothy Perkins Sr. (his second wife) about 1812 but no record of this marriage has been found. she apparently died as a result of childbirth in 1813 as Timothy signed over all his claim to the estate of Francis Sturgill Sr. to Francis Sturgill Jr. in that year.
In an interview with Isom Sturgill in 1948 (the grandson of Francis Jr.) he stated that his grandfather raised a niece who later married a Price. The 1820 census of his grandfather's family supports this statement.
Ashe Co. records show that in 1838 the other heirs of Francis Sturgill Sr. sighned over to brothers Francis Sturgill Jr. and James Sturgill jointly all their claims to slaves owned by Francis Sr. This deed was signed by Lydia Price who could have been none other than a daughter of Ann Sturgill and Timothy Perkins. pg 60
